We are devoted to all of our dogs. From the time they are born in our home, they are loved and nurtured. Our lifestyle with our puppies is centered to stimulate brain development, evoke curiosity, socialization, all while growing, and learning the pattern of life among our family.
In their early stages, we handle and socialize each puppy to develop their mind, and connection with people and a variety of animals on our farm. We expose our puppies to everyday household sounds i.e. television, music, our other dogs, pans clanging, bells, the vacuum, hairdryer, toilet flushing, and the shower running... We also expose them to gunfire to mimic the sound of fireworks.
Weather permitting the puppies get to explore the great outdoors. We introduce them to different surfaces such as tile, carpet, slate, grass, mud, sand, gravel, wood, plastic, a tarp and tin. They enjoy playing with toys made of various textures like tug ropes, chews, balls, squeaky playthings. This helps prepare them for becoming confident, and well socialized lifelong companions. New owners should continue these practices.
We touch all of the puppies body parts to get them used to being handled including their feet, their ears, their tail, and their mouth, etc. Since we live in Pennsylvania, they get to experience different seasons, and many of the glorious things that come with them. Once the puppies are three weeks old we begin training them to use a potty box, and around six weeks we begin the crate, and leash training. If requested, we will train your puppy the concept of ringing the potty-bells at no additional fee. All shots and exams, etc., are performed by our local licensed veterinarian along with an optimum kibble with gluten-free grains, diet. You may schedule to meet the puppies in person after their first puppy booster shots by 6 weeks of age.
This early socialization enables the puppy to easily adapt to a new family. It is important for the puppy's well being and development to have a routine. If you continue with the training by setting rules, boundaries, and limitations while being consistent, this will make for a better relationship between the puppy and your family.
